GMX opens regional office in Dubai under company name, V-KOOL Middle East, to service the fast expanding Middle Eastern markets.

GMX takes a significant equity stake in Southwall as a strategic investment and vertical integration initiative.

GMX's in-house creative agency (now known as Spinnaker360) wins Singapore top design award for direct marketing packaging.

31st December, GMX enters into the Food & Beverage industry by acquiring major stake in Pastamania, a Italian fast food concept. At time of acquisition, PastaMania was 4 years old and operated two outlets in downtown Singapore. PastaMatrix International Pte Ltd is formed as new, post-acquisition entity.

2002
To gear up for franchise mode, PastaMania undergoes brand and store identity revitalisation, by GMX in-house creative agency (now known as Spinnaker360). New PastaMania concept store launches in April at Causeway Point Mall. Existing two outlets get retrofitted to new identity standards concurrently.

GMX's in-house creative agency is renamed Spinnaker360 and begins external design and brand consultancy work. Spinnaker360 wins yet another packaging design award for its Light Reflectance Meter and clinches AsianStar award for its V-KOOL direct mailer.

V-KOOL wins inaugural Singapore Promising Brand Award 2002. Singapore Minister of State, Vivian Balakrishnan presents award to Company.

GMX undergoes corporate restructuring with assistance of Tan & Sitoh Consultants. Restructuring exercise results in the formation of the holding company, Globamatrix Holdings Pte Ltd, as is currently known. Globamatrix businesses reorganised into 3 portfolios, namely, Window Film, Food & Beverage, and Corporate Advisory.

Globamatrix sets up its Representative Office for window films division in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.

V-KOOL brand wins SuperBrand accolade.

June 2003, Pastamania outlet growth spans 9, 3 and 5 restaurants in Singapore, Kuwait and UAE respectively.

Globamatrix launches an e-commerce website, marketing latest range of DIY films under Nanolux brandname.

V-KOOL Master Franchisees expand in Middle East to include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.

V-KOOL network expands to over 70 stores covering most provinces of China.

Vietro International Pte Ltd, incorporated. Vietro brand opens concept store in Funan IT Mall selling authentic Vietnamese Cuisine, in a quick casual dining setting.

PastaMania expands its presence into the Indonesian market and launches flagship store in Jakarta's latest premier shopping mall.

Globamatrix ranked by DP information Group as Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Singapore. Award endorsed by Ernst & Young, International Enterprise Singapore (IES), Spring Singapore, The Business Times Singapore and HSBC.

PastaMania opens 3 new outlets and relocates another within 3 months in Q4 2004. New outlets in Parco Bugis, Toa Payoh Central and Suntec City. Junction 8 outlet relocates due to major structural renovations at the mall to facilitate the new MRT line.

Globamatrix launches second line of quick casual dining restaurants under the brandname Wrappamania in Plaza Singapura. Wrappamania sells east meet west fusion wrapps targetted at youths and health conscious consumer.

V-KOOL brand wins the ASME's Singapore Promising Brand Award 2004.

Globamatrix directors, Andrew Kwan and COL (NS) Wee Hian Woon amongst 13 other top business persons named Entrepreneurs of The Year by the ASME (Association Of Small Medium Enterprises) and Rotary Club of Singapore.
